Impact of Business on the Economy

Where has Responsibility Gone? Blame & Fault by Apple

I don’t normally jump on the latest bandwagon, but this one seemed too fun to miss out on. Earlier this summer, Steve Jobs set a new business example for others to follow—blaming the customer by saying “Stop holding the phones in that way.”

Apple’s launch of a much desired iPhone 4 was less than positively accepted. Customers soon started complaining about losing signal. When Apple’s loyal customer base turned to them for help, all they heard, was “it is your fault.”

Really, it’s the customers’ fa…

Emerging Trends in the Construction Industry

As the economy makes a slow come back and companies are beginning to think they see light at the end of the tunnel, drastic changes are still occurring. Some are with the economy, some specific to the construction industry and some still need to happen within individual companies.

The economy turning around is not going to save all of the companies that still remain. The economy that emerges will have vastly different rules, expectations, and reasons why people will buy. The companies that do sur…

How to Change Your Business without Hiring Anyone to Help

The simple things in life make all the difference in the world. Yet it seems to be human nature to complicate them, which inevitably screws things up.

When you think back to all the experiences you have had over your lifetime, the ones that stand out the most are always the simplest ones like making bread with grandma or playing ball with your dad? How did you feel when you heard “thank you” from the person you least expected to say it? Thank you is a very powerful phrase.

Jon Gordon wrote a great…

Economy Changes, What Do I Do?!

What is going on in the media is great example of ‘jumping on the bandwagon.’ Every time I turn around there is another story about how the economy is plummeting. No one knows what to do about it and everyone has an opinion on how to fix it. Since this topic alone could be a series of books at best, I will narrow my focus to businesses and ‘What should we do to get through these times?’

When times are good and the economy is booming, we are too busy to work on our business and fix the things that…
